I think you might find that most people in the area are taking their boats out of the water for the winter.

Keep the Achilles. It's a lovely boat !

You could probably get an Achilles for about 4k and I can thoroughly recommend them. Had one since August 2004 and really enjoyed it. You could also take a look at the Gallion 22. They are also quite fast for a small boat and have a good handicap !

Sand it back as much as you can stand, 2 coats of Primocon, and antifoul over the top.

Have you tried a search on ebay ? I bought some stainless u-bolts off there last year.

I have my transducer in a tube but I have it filled with ultrasound gel. At the end of the season just lift it out, wipe it off and store it at home ready for next season.
