Just got the email and filled in the survey. My take is that they're ramping up charges to private Thames users, and passing it on as savings to business users. Which of the aforementioned are making money on the Thames?!
Glad I'm not the only one; what a clusterf@ck. Of course the irony is that my boat is on it's trailer on my driveway, where it's been for most of the year!
I'm bloody fuming! I paid for my license for 2020, not that I got much use out of it, and somehow they don't know this?!
This is the text from the email:
Dear Sir/Madam
We have been checking our registration database and it appears your vessel is not registered for 2020.

Given that they're bringing back limits on mooring, I'd imagine that they're assuming that people will be mooring up short term. Whether that's "allowed" is open to interpretation, as you are now currently allowed to move home. This could easily by interpreted to allow moving to a second home...

I was surprised to find the lockie was actually at Temple lock, and stopped for a...
I'm glad that you made it to the other side of this horrid disease. My sister is a hospital doctor, and I know how many are dying. In terms of the locks however, I'm not sure you're right.
I walked down to Marlow lock today to see if the EA had restored power (I was hoping that they had). They...
Surely you'd have ownership of the river bank, and riperian rights to (half) the river bed? I know an EA license would be necessary to build out into the river, but putting some bollards on the bank and mooring to them is surely a no-brainer?
Hi All,

Cheers,
Andy
