Why not just a warm oven or similar for an hour or so? Then you have to relube.

What's the relative humidity in there? I've had this phenomena in a garage where nothing would dry right, spray paint, varnish, nothing...

Now all I need is a hot glue gun (and somewhere to store it, which is a major problem), and take it everywhere I need to do some sanding...
