New legislation applying to ALL powered craft in UK waters

Anyone operating a boat with an engine or motor should be aware of this big change in legislation, the rules have seriously broadened their remit. MGN 684 (M) Safety of powered watercraft

Water Pressure Pump ‘flickering/pulsing’ for a few seconds before switching off

I used to use the bigger Jabsco water sets on fishing vessels, if the accumulator tank needed pressurised (with a foot pump) or the membrane inside had burst, it caused the pump to constantly cycle (rather than the occasional smooth on then off once the accumulator tank was back up to pressure)...

    Studland Bay Boating Ban

Certainly up here in Scotland eNGOs seem to have adopted the whipping up of mob hysteria mode of operandus. Distant opinion holders whose narrative is at times quite frankly laughable - seem to assume as much if not more sway than genuine stakeholders whose positions are based on a genuine...

    Onboard CCTV advice

Many thanks for this informative response. I am trying desperately to keep it as simple as possible as the old set up was, straight from camera to monitor if at all possible although I appreciate that may no longer be doable with advances in modern CCTV technology and the lack of compatable...

    Onboard CCTV advice

Thanks for this, it probably needs to be a stand alone set up as chopping and changing views on plotters wouldn't really work in this case. It's on a commercial vessel and the various plotters (Olex etc) really need to be dedicated as do the monitors.

    Onboard CCTV advice

Looking for some CCTV advice. I have a couple of 7" monitors connected direct to cameras, one in the engine room and one looking over the stern out aft. They are of an age, I have no idea what actual system or type, it was cheap and cheerful eBay stuff and has BNC connectors between the camera...

Oh dear, this is quite pretty....

Having once owned a 60 ft Danish wooden fishing vessel - run Forrest run would be my take - but that was a working one which endured a hard life - it was a very happy day the day that she went to be broken up, she was one character building lady. On the potential income stream - you would need...

    Jenner Merry fisher 925 question

No idea how to post pics to show the set up but on mine there are two valves in the area mentioned, they are on coolant pipes from the engine going to the windscreen blower set up. I assume they go to a matrix of some sort and guess they are there to shut it off in the event of a leak so you...

    Bloody French! (S C A L L O P S)

Re: Bloody French! They are definitely hunters for sure, There are bits and bobs of actual re-seeding do go on at times in some locations, so yes they are a bit like farmers as well.

    Bloody French! (S C A L L O P S)

New one on me, i've never heard of any Danish scallop fishery or salmon eating scallops for that, do you have a link or suchlike? There is the case in the Irish Sea where there is a closed season for scallops applying to UK vessels while other EU nations can and do fish for them outside the 12...
