XM fixed VHF DSC radio

I have the above radio which I would like to use on another vessel. How can I clear the MMSI / DSC registration from the existing radio so I can load it with a new MMSI number? I have been told to return the set to the manufacturer but as XM has been swallowed by Plastimo what else can I do ?

Turn radio off.
Hold down [16] and [watch] while turning radio on.
Enter 4500 as a pin.
You should then get an option to reset MMSI.
Push channel button to accept then confirm.

Allegedly.

You can also contact OFCOM and have the MMSI transferred to the new boat... . (You'll then need a new mmsi for the original boat). Normally the MMSI belongs to the boat for obvious reasons.
