bit rubbish interms of volume. But then loads of the sites are a bit rubbish -altho of course you only need a few crew or praps only one so it might be ok.

it looks reasonable though the geographical detail is poor - if i want someone to crew for a weekend in the west country just 'UK' isn't enough information.
their categories for crew to identify their skills is a bit bizarre - 'experienced passenger' and 'officer' being the nearest to what i would be looking for, i.e. competent crew and watch-keeper.
have you seen www.sailingfriends.co.uk?

Keep in mind that www.findacrew.net is probably the only crew website that caters comprehensively from dinghies to cruising liners, for any type of crew and worldwide – anytime, thanks to it's very flexible searching capabilities.
While visitors can search by continent and country, members can also search by state/county/province, and Premium Members can view regions from where crew or boats are from. This is not necessarily to make you to become a Premium Member but to protect the privacy of members from web-stalkers, spammers and timewaster.
Find a Crew is designed to minimise the 'daydreamers' and 'timewasters' by making it not to easy to just quickly register but actually think about what you want. The QuickFind feature (available to all Free and Premium Members) searches for you, instead you looking for a boat or a crew. You just describe yourself and the system will display all suitable matches in order of match and last login.
Find a Crew is NOT a free service but it is based on a 'try before you buy' bases. Everything is free, from registration to search and internal messaging, except you have to be a Premium Member if you wish to contact someone directly. This is not required if a Premium Member contacts you.
Based on our research it appears that we are the fastest growing crew website now regarding membership and member activity, we just reached 1200 members in less than 4 months. Mind you we only went live on 1 December 2004.
From the people who have actually given Find a Crew a good go, we are getting fantastic feedback and this is most likely the reason for our popularity in conjunction with our transparency. We do not hide how many members we have and we do display when members logged in last. You can contact anyone for free with the internal messaging system to make sure they are around and are interested in you before you would even consider of becoming a Premium Member. Because the Premium Membership has nothing to do with the success of your profile you will not waste your money if no one replies to your profile.

Also forgot to mention that we also have a 45-day guarantee that every member listed has logged in within the last 45 days. Members that have not logged in the last 45 days are automatically removed from the listing but not deleted. While we have a lot of members we are not going for volume but for quality.
There is probably not even a handful of crew websites around the world who have more than 100 members listed that would have logged in within the last 45 days. Right now, Find a Crew has over 700 active members listed that logged in within the last 45 days.
