NB. Please treat this as you would any spin coming from the Env. Agency

Of the many boats that turned up for the get together at Ashmount House this weekend and took part in the Concours de elegance, two boats in particular stood out thus making it difficult for the distinguished panel of judges to chose one. They awarded the prizes therefore to a Broom 35 European and a Spirit 3000. The Skippers receiving two cases of vintage champagne each and a year's free maintenance regardless of cost plus free Thames licences for the next decade.
Having slipped the wives Micky Finns. The men loaded themselves into several stretched Limos and went to a Booby Club where they revelled into the early hours arriving back at dawn just in time to see the wives waking up. Leaping out of bed thoroughly refreshed the wives prepared a huge breakfast which was washed down with gallons of Bucks Fizz.

Each departing boat received a Voucher for a years mooring with any UK Marina together with the choice of any two items in the West Marine Catalogue.

Yes thanks for your generous hospitality Byron, we had a great time.

Byron does indeed know anybody who is or was anybody on the river, the EA director sitting on the next table at the lapdancing club, greeted him like an old friend and then insisted on paying for the strippers all night. Byron seemed a bit embarressed but the EA guy said funds for this sort of thing wouldn't be a problem for at least the next 3 years, he took our boat names for the free licenses and said we probably shouldn't tell anyone about the club, as not all boaters (particuarly those between Bray and Boveney apparently) were able to get there at weekends.
