On the site known as Harold’s Field in Portskewett, we had a very rewarding excavation and found remains of a possible Norman (11th Century) tower, some interesting early pottery (including some pre-Norman and Roman material), and evidence of a harbour at the bottom of the hill. So we are delighted to have had the opportunity to let Phil discover what sailing into the Port at Portskewett might have been like.

The new series of Time Team starts early next year and we will be off to a fantastic start with the first programme, about Harold’s Field.
