We are planning departure from Marchwood YC at 0300hr Fri then via Needles for ETA Cherbourg from 1600hr.
Return will be on Sunday & we are thinking of putting into Bembridge for the night dining at The Vine, Brading YC, or even Baywatch Cafe. Last year we joined a few members in The Kingshead Yarmouth for Sunday evening but tide times are not so convenient this year. If the forecast had continued F5/6 NE for Sun we would have probably gone to Weymouth instead !

Who's still going to St Vaast?

Tried to leave Cherbourg for St Vaast earlier today, wind was NE f6, and big swell and pretty unpleasant outside the outer breakwater, so came back in - an epic voyage from pontoon N to pontoon P of 4 miles! Had 2 reefs in the main and full waterproofs etc even in a motorsailer with a greenhouse :) May try again tomorrow, otherwise we'll end up staying in Cherbourg. There's plenty of space in the visitors berths in the marina. Wind seems to be dropping a little this evening, but french forecasts still giving approx ENE f6 over the next day or so...
