So I know this is a slightly sore subject recently. But is Watchet actually accessible as a visitor with the right boat? I’m 27 foot, bilge keeled with 1m draught. Is it doable? Or totally best avoided?

Basically I’m looking for a decent down channel 1-night stopover from Cardiff. Weekend of 5/6 Sept so ebb-out flood-back the only option really given the tide times. Other suggestions welcomed.

Should be totally feasible... especially since the floating pump has been adding more water to offset the mud recently. Still I would check with the marina first as they should know where their 'dredger' has been.

Call and ask them as even if you can get in the tidal window may be so small that you will have little or no flood tide left when you leave to return to Cardiff

It's ok, trouble is you will have to anchor outside and wait for the next tide to get in. Some people punch the tide to get there around high water.
