Amazing creatures with little fear of humans.
A few years ago I was delivering a yacht from Antigua to Tahiti. As you do. ?? we pit stopped in the Galápagos Islands and the port we visited had them absolutely everywhere. You couldn't dinghy ashore. They would get in it and sink it if left afloat. Or burst it if you put it on the beach. And crap all over it too..
The service launches take you ashore. It's easier. They land you at a pier with steps otherwise know as seal leisure centre. The piers have park benches fitted obviously so seals can take a nap.
The yacht was a Bavaria 46. We got back from one victuals run to find one draped across the sugar scoop transom. These things are big, heavy, smelly but strangely difficult to dislike....
