Apologies for poking my nose in here but I am surprised someone has not snatched your hand off. These are excellent sets and sold for c £800 new.

as far as I am aware it is not programmable for an MMSI no.
that is to do with the VHF you are connecting it to.

Those were my thoughts also, just that the point was raised by another.
Also as far as I am aware MMSI numbers can be changed, i recall buying a 2 hand phone sent it away to be changed to my number.
Is the unit complete and ready for installation with all the bits required, if so i will commit to purchase.

MMSI no’s can be changed on your VHF usually via manufacturer/dealer, I have had it done in the past.
yes all the bits are included as well as installation instructions, just connect power and connect to VHF via short lead from splitter.

The 650 is an AIS display only. There is no “AIS data” in the device to change.

?You are correct, # 11 edited. I was thinking of the 850.

In addition, while the Vesper 650 is an excellent little device - best practical AIS display in its day, though the plotter manufacturers have started to catch up since - the SR 161 receiver included in this package looks to be a basic single-channel device. That’ll make it seem much less sensitive and slower to resolve targets, as it will miss 50% of messages compared to a proper two-channel unit.

Still not a bad deal overall.
