I daren't take a boat to the Thames because i have no doilies on which to serve cakes or biscuits. Do local chandleries have a ready supply of doilies? Or do i have to take a stock of the things myself?

Would one even consider serving afternoon tea to one's friends without a doily.
Surely standards, even outside the Empire have not slipped to that degree?
Next you'll be telling us you give the butler time off whilst away for the season!!

Don't forget no white trousers after 7pm and never ever wear boating shoes with greys & reefer.
