Hi,
I recently got my hands on a Torqeedo Travel 801. A friends dad bought it 10 years ago and hasn’t used it for 5-6 years. He’s in bad health now and he asked me if I wanted to try it out.
when I plug in the battery to charge, it seems to go through the charge cycle. Then when I disconnect it and push the button to see the state of charge, it shows full charge. If I try it again it shows nothing on the LEDs.
When I assemble the unit and connect the battery it won’t run.
Are there any tests I can do to see if the battery has failed?
what charging voltage should it be getting?
what voltage should I see off the pins when fully charged?
Are there any DIY fixes for battery replacement?

Not sure if you've got a copy of the manual but it's here.

https://media.torqeedo.com/downloads/manuals/torqeedo-travel-401-801-manual-EN.pdf

Page 17 "In order to ensure the charge indicator continues to show reliable values, it is necessary to empty the battery to below 20% and then fully charge it once a year." If your friend's dad hasn't used it for 5-6 years that may not have been done. There are other suggestions on page 17 which may help. Also trouble-shooting on page 24.
