I'm currently reading This Thing of Darkness by Harry Thompson. Fundamentally is a dramatised historical book about FitzRoy, including Darwin and the Beagle. It's a great thick beast of a book, but excellent reading and, despite struggling to believe some of it, it is all true based on diaries, books and logs.

A great read, and I've developed a new found respect for FitzRoy and his integrity and bravery.

I read it for a long time and agree that it is an amazing book. I will definitely give my wife to read :)
