Now there's a coincidence! In the 50's she lay close to the Bodlondeb shore at Conwy when I was collecting crabs from the rocky shore there.
We stayed aboard Fidelity, just out of view in the photo, a house boat converted from a Thornycroft ASRL.

There are recent press reports that the boat is about to be removed, after years of wrangling by the district council and the Crouch Harbour Authority - Finally time to raise ‘Burnham Titanic’ as permission granted to right 'eyesore' boat

There's also an interesting letter in the press from a previous owner - LETTER: No credit over boat’s retrieval

The boat's a bit of a wreck, I believe. Maybe more so now.

She's had a massive extra deck and superstructure added. My hazy memory from my Naval Architecture degree suggests that's likely to have an adverse effect on the ship's stability, exacerbated if mass low down has been removed, eg ballast or engines.

Long narrow old fashioned hull with much superstructure added on later to increase accomodation. Obviously never helped her stability.

And on 29/12/2014 she sank on her mooring. Owner away. Refloated by Fire service and Coastguard, plus a pump loaned by North Fambridge Yacht Haven.

It has been a bureaucratic nightmare requiring four separate licenses to do the work each one taking several months to acquire. Would have been much easier if she could have been declared a wreck.
