Strange power outlet

Also known as a DIN socket. Often on motorcycles, they stay more stable with vibration than standard cigarette lighter style sockets.

The dummy plug that is fitted looks similar to the Merit so could be that or the DIN plug. Next time I am near a Halfords I will have a look.

Yes, and I believe DIN plug/sockets have better contacts, smaller dia., and are available in high current capacity versions.

DIN is a standard (type). There are various manufacturers of DIN plugs and sockets.

I managed to find one in a Motorspares shop in Gt Cornard, near Sudbury. Leigh, if you want one I could get one and drop it off on Tuesday?

Thanks I am not sure what I would use them for just now but really wanted to know what they were and if they were still available.
One of them is in the heads, and I cannot think of a reason to have a 12V Power outlet in there!!
