The dummy plug that is fitted looks similar to the Merit so could be that or the DIN plug. Next time I am near a Halfords I will have a look.

Also known as a DIN socket. . . they stay more stable with vibration than standard cigarette lighter style sockets.

Yes, and I believe DIN plug/sockets have better contacts, smaller dia., and are available in high current capacity versions.

DIN is a standard (type). There are various manufacturers of DIN plugs and sockets.

Thanks I am not sure what I would use them for just now but really wanted to know what they were and if they were still available.
One of them is in the heads, and I cannot think of a reason to have a 12V Power outlet in there!!
