With today's clarification of what is not allowed that boat may be in hot water when it gets back.

I guess the act of being on the boat itself is not a problem
Trouble is if we all did it the marinas etc would be crowded
Problem

Hypothetically, I wonder whether it's possible that someone has simply loaded up and is living at sea on their yacht. People manage to go around the world none stop on these things after all. You've got wind and solar for power generation, could catch fish to eat plus masses of tinned stuff. I guess fresh water is the limiting factor. Rain water? Battery powered desalination? Wonder where the law lies on that? You can't go to your boat, absolutely fine. But if you're on it, at sea, and never coming in, what's the jurisdiction there?

As I say, hypothetically, I'm not suggesting that's the situation here.

A yacht arrived into Tory Island off the northwest coast of Ireland at the weekend and caused some consternation. They were contacted by the coastguard and were told not to leave their vessel and to adhere to the Irish Health Service guidelines. All Irish offshore islands can currently only be visited by residents

Hi. I live on the Hamble and attach the informative that the Harbour Authority has posted everywhere - basically reminding everyone that boating isn't essential and isn't allowed. This extends to kayaking / SUP etc - basically anything which could require emergency services to be called out if you get into trouble! Wonderful to be able to look at the river, really frustrating not to be able to go onto it (first world problem admittedly).

I thought I saw a Bavaria being given a police escort into Portsmouth harbour the other day? Don’t think he ended up at Haslar so maybe he was heading for Gosport boat yard for essential repairs?
