Is it worth joining? Other than for philanthropic reasons, do you get a better service. Is there an iPhone/Android app for instance?

Hi Whitelighter. It is a flash-heavy system and so i???? is not really an option. They do have a mobile client but you need to pay a subscription for that.

Game is not as technical as some others (no sail choices etc) but is way more fun and stable that some of the other more advanced systems.... and very well supported. Really is a weather routing game. Lodsa fun, but you need to be prepared for some sleepless nights if you want to be competitive.

Right, chaps. Are we (i.e. YBW) going to do this properly this year ?

I am fed up with coming 283rd behind a team of frogs and vikings. ;)

If we collaborate ( e.g. early and late shifts, running aground warnings, etc) we can thrash them.

What is your view on using wind routing software, or should it be done by the seat of our YBW pants, and sheer brain power ?

I'd be happy to ask the mods to make it a sticky, and get huge sponsorship from IPC so that we can go and watch the finishes irl. :D:

Historically we (the YBW massive) have agreed not to use routing software and I would prefer to continue in this vain.
Makes it more of a level playing field between us.

Just my opinion

er ... I notice my name included in the list ...

I'm not really taking part - certainly not for the first leg as I'm "otherwise engaged" for the majority of it....

Nice to see SOL still going strong though ...

Hi, Saw you'd registered for the Leg so added you name.
Have no Fear, Would 3 discards be enough? ;)

For any New comers and those with bad memories

I am AKA YBW_Booby_Trapper (old boat name)

I prefer to not use any routing software. But not against anyone using it just as long as they declare it and don't feature on the ybw table.
