Might find that a US equivalent will meet MCA requirments.
I recently completed the Danish equivalent of the Medical Care Onboard, and that is accepted by the MCA.
I did think about the USCG but didn't have much luck as you can't hold any of their licences unless you are a US citizen - I'm in the process off that now but also need to keep my MCA ticket current and something that would work for both would be good...
Think step one is to contact the MCA and find out if the US Course is acceptable, and Step Two, find out from a US Marine college if you can sit the course.

regarding places to take the course, and I think there are some college lecturers on this forum, so might get some reliable information.
