Hi, I'm thinking of buying a sealine 218 1989 for 15k. The boat had a new volvo penta 205 engine put in 2007. Are these good reliable engines and is the boat a good buy for the money? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

I recently bought a 218 and am very happy with it and the use of space, access etc. Still learning and do check out the Sealine forum as suggested.

Good little boat, and a new(er) engine is a bonus. Having said that, £15k seems a little steep. Unless it has lots of other new stuff, 218's of this vintage are really more like £10k boats, maybe £12k to allow for a newer engine, IMHO

I had one for years. There isn’t a better boat at that size that does what that does. The 220 also applies.
15k is sounding like it’s either mint condition and with a trailer or it’s a little expensive. Great boats though. The electrics are going to be suspect by now though.
