Idiosynchratic and really interesting account of a 7 year circumnavigation from the states. Superbly written, the only criticism is he seems to have rushed to finish it and the sections after suez through the med and the return crossing are a bit skimped compared to the tropics, even the sail up inside the barrier reef and Australia in general gets very short thrift. Minor niggles though, should really have been two volumes
