This is Richard Matthews (Founder of Oyster Yachts) latest boat Oyster Catcher 35.

I'm interested in the hull design . It has a flared chine from the bow going aft. The bow too is a bit different.

Would be interested why it's there and what it does.

TIA

Maybe it is a wave piercing feature, intended to reduce the breaking force each time they hit a wave helping to maintain momentum. The cut away fore quarters reduces weight forwardand the hull then transitions to the flaired form midship. Would it allow a deck scraping fore sail to be pulled in tighter to give a better slot?

With that keel it is the complete oppositet to a long keeler.

Only guessing. Perhaps a raceing skipper or one of the NA's will be along soon.

It's a very similar shape to the F40 "Ran".

The most eye-catching element is her angular reverse sheer, which Carkeek says achieves several things. “It improves the stiffness of the boat, it reduces the area of the overall volume, so we are removing some weight from key areas – like in the bow. And there is an aero component, a drag reduction, and improved flow onto the sails as well.
