I am now the proud owner of 50 No. 3mm X 30 mm stainless steel dowels, the same size and weight as the original shear pin ( maybe a mm longer?)
Bought on line for about £15.
Also bought 10 spring clips (30 mm dia) for less than a tenner.
I can see no reason why these should not do the job. I' m sure QL didn't manufacture their shear pins to any great degree of tolerance, and probably bought in ' off the shelf'.
Time will tell. It could be years before they're needed.!!
