Serve then right, not being heatless I hope Spain refuses then too. It's time these selfless people stop moving around,
I real think if a yacht trying to enter our Marina there be a up roar.

They should have anchored at Portimao, flown the Q flag and called the coast guard. They would have likely been given 2 weeks quarantine,

Well that is what should happen. But in these extraordinary times I think you can take it that they were denied any form of access including anchoring under quarantine.

There been several cases now where boat have been refused entry, some have still got it in there heads that they have a right to enter any country if need be , which isn't the case any more , I sure if you was sinking an exception would be made but for now at less every harbour is making there own rules and in Greece the rule have been apply strictly with the arrest of skippers , can you really blane them .

You know it be a great idea to know the circumstances before commenting , both boats where the skipper where arrested where cruising the Greece island and been there a while , it was well published that on a certain date at a certain time all boats had to be in a harbour or marina , both these skipper and I guess a few others too decided the rules don't apply to them, one actually went around and had to call for help.
They broke the law in that country , they put others at risk , I think knowing what Greece is like being under arrest is the less of the problem both will end up with large fines and the one who called from help is just about to learn the cost of his Acton , as his boat would had been impounded until he get a survey of sea worthless , which mean the cost of a lift out yard fees and the expenses of getting a surveyor probably from Athens to survey the boat .

Despite this lockdown, boats arrive almost daily, in the Canaries, full of Sub Saharan & other illegals.
Hard to deport them, as they get rid of any form of identification, en route .
Spain is employing linguists, who can supposedly , work out where the individuals are from.
No Idea, what hapens to them, once they get ashore.
Not all, get intercepted by the Guardia Civil.
Lots just dissapear into the illegal communities.
God only knows, what ilnesses, drugs & weapons, these illegals, bring in.

Seen some of them before on the quayside in tenerife, many barely concious . Beyond sad, men, women and kids knowingly risking their lives cos its better than the awful conditions they endure where they are. Drugs and weapons? Where did you get that idea from?
No answer, but some compassion seems only human....

Er, The Spanish Police's own press releases, in the Spanish Papers !
Just yesterday, 1 boat arrived in the south of Gran Canaria and another in the South of Tenerife.
And the news had video footage, of drug smugglers , carrying bales, running up the beach, somewhere in Spain.
Oh, so its ok to break the law, as certain people , see fit ?
White people, in a yacht .......Ohh Flaunting the rules , whip them !
Black people breaking the law ? Oh those poor people .
Sorry, but, rules, are rules ! Something has to be consistent !
Europe, cannot support the whole world !

Still not a hint of compassion.......... Drug smuggling 'Somewhere in Spain' isn't humans with lives so desparate they will risk everything to escape with just a hope of better .
Once more as you missed it the first time, no answer. But your lack of compassion for fellow humans identical to every other human on the planet but for a geographical place of birth in a desperate situation is just plain disgusting :(

I suggest you read the threads, in this post, EU citizens, being slated, for breaking the rules ?
Yet you seem quite happy, that non EU citizens, can break the law ?
Is that,, You , Jeremy ?

It’s not the point you have made. You tried to equate privileged people asserting their exceptionalism with desperate people for most of whom a dose of cv 19 would be a nice holiday from the sort of shite they have faced throughout their lives.
If the post was a rant against the people traffickers there wouldn't be much to disagree with, it was the lack of compassion for the people so desperate to risk everything getting exploited by the traffickers that is so repulsive.
