UKHO permanent/preliminary/temporary notices

1. ENGLAND - East Coast - NM Block. -
This notice presents a UKHO block for Chart 1975 dealing with the buoyage changes in the Outer Crouch. These have already notified us of these changes in Week 30 (NtM 3003) and Week 25 (NtM 2783(P) for Chart 1975). So the information remains as before. The block shows the new designations. 2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Lights. -
Change of light characteristics on the northern pontoon at Tilburyness and at the Northfleet Upper Light and Tilbury Traffic Warning Light, River Thames.

1. SEA REACH - SOUTHEND PIER –WORKS -
On or about 02nd August 2021, extension works will begin at Southend Pier. The works will involve piling and steelworks, undertaken using the jack-up barge HAVEN SEAWAY and pontoon NUMITOR.
The works are expected to be completed around the end of October 2021. Any request to proceed with caution or at slow speed will be made by London VTS on channel 68/69 in accordance with port-wide Notice to Mariners 08/2021. Further updates will be given by London VTS. The chartlet shows the location of the works and can be seen in the Local list in the above quoted web page.
2. Ipswich Wet Dock – Water Rescue Exercises - on Monday 9th August 2021, Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service & the RNLI will be carrying out water rescue exercises and training in the Wet Dock around Orwell Quay between the following times:-
- 10:00 – 12:00 & - 14:00 – 16:00
This is part of the Water Responder Programme and will involve a trainer entering the water and the use of throw bags & rescue equipment from the quayside. All vessels are requested to keep well clear of the training exercises and pass at slow speed.
This Notice to Mariners will self-cancel on 09/08/2021 at 2359. Contact ONS VHF channel 68 for more information.
3. Approaches to King’s Lynn - Amendments to buoyage - due to changes in the profile of the approach channel to King’s Lynn and to maintain the safety of navigation, the following amendments to buoyage will take place on Monday 26th July 2021 over the pm high water:
a) No. 17 light buoy to be moved approx. 495m x 206°(T) to 52° 51’.465N 00°21’.000E
b) No. 16 light buoy to be moved approx. 300m x 345°(T) to 52° 51’.400N 00°21’.140E
c) No. 19 light buoy to be moved approx. 150m x 195°(T) to 52° 51’.185N 00°20’.975E
The works will be carried out by the buoying vessel St Edmund and all craft are requested to keep clear and pass at reduced speed whilst works are underway. For further information please contact Harbour Office.
4. Havengore - Late working: Friday 13 August - the Range will be operating later into the afternoon on Friday 13 August. Havengore Bridge will be not be open to marine traffic until Range activity has been completed and the Red Flags have been lowered. We expect the bridge to be open for part of the afternoon hide tide (in accordance with MOD byelaws), but this is dependent on what time Range activity is completed. You can contact the Bridgekeeper on the day for an update on 01702 383436 or VHF Channel 72. They will be on duty for 2 hours either side of high tide.
