1. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depth. - Another of the series of preliminary notices advising reduced depths in the Yantlet Channel (shipping channel). This between the Sea Reach pairs Nos 2 and 3. At 13.7m unlikely to hinder leisure craft – where we ought not to be anyway!
2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Buoy. - New isolated danger buoy positioned in the The Well in the Wash. - see the image in the usual page: Notices to Mariners
3. ENGLAND - East Coast - Scientific instrument. Buoy. - A new temporary special buoy right in the middle of the Blackwater off West Mersea. It is a Cefas buoy (Environment issues).

1. RIVER THAMES - SEA REACH - LONDON GATEWAY BERTH 4 - CORE SAMPLING - On or about 27th March 2020 the survey vessel FLATHOLM will commence coring work at a number of locations off the site of London Gateway Berth 4 for approximately 3 days. No coring will be undertaken in the vicinity of Berth 3 during berthing or unberthing operations and the FLATHOLM will maintain a 100 metre separation from any vessel moored at Berth 3. Whilst undertaking coring, the FLATHOLM will be restricted in her ability to manoeuvre and the lights and shapes as prescribed in Rule 27 of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 will be displayed, namely: • By day, three black shapes in a vertical line the highest and lowest of which are balls and the middle one a diamond. • By night, three all-round lights in a vertical line the highest and lowest of which are red and the middle one white. London VTS will broadcast requests for vessels to “proceed with caution” or “proceed at slow speed”;
2. RIVER CROUCH - COVID 19 Restrictions - Recreational and Leisure Activities - INFORMATION - issuing this notice in line with current Government Coronavirus (COVID 19) restrictions issued on Monday 23 March 2020. To reduce social contact travel and potential strain on emergency services, we strongly recommend that all recreational and leisure activities on the tidal rivers Crouch and Roach are avoided until the current Government restrictions are relaxed. Our priority is to keep the harbour open and functioning as long as possible. From 9 March the Crouch Harbour Authority implemented contingency planning measures to separate key workers who maintain our harbour patrols, pilot services and office staff. As a result of our resilience measures we have a reduced capability in responding to leisure incidents and enquiries. Although the harbour office is closed to the public it remains open for business by email and telephone. We regret that there may be delays when responding to routine enquiries. We ask for your cooperation and understanding during the National Emergency.
3. PORT OF GREAT YARMOUTH - Essential repair works on “Ferry Steps” - the “Ferry Steps” access area on Berth 10 in Great Yarmouth River Port will be out of use for essential repair works from Monday 23rd March 2020 to Sunday 5th April 2020.
4. IPSWICH - Installation of New Lock Gates now postponed. That is it.Due to the many issues surrounding Covid -19 (Coronavirus) , unfortunately we have had to postpone the installation of our New Lock Gates. Therefore Local Notice to Mariners No4 - 2020 is cancelled and the Lock is operating normally. We will promulgate further information via Local Notice to Mariners as and when we have new information.
