Hi all new to the forum and wondered if you could help.

I have a 5m rib with a 60hp engine. would anyone know how well I would get on off Padstow? I am a little hesitant as I am more used to the waters of the south coast and don't know if I have built getting out of the Camel estuary into a big deal that it shouldn't be?

thanks in advance

You are right to be prudent, Doom bar ("Dunbar") is very tricky given certain tide and wind conditions. However, lots of RIBS play out in the Channel quite safely with the right precautions.

It's worth calling up the lifeboat station, and talking through the present bar position and general advice, before you zip out. They will update you about the buoyage changes.
