She was actually the "Marguerite Explorer", a 1934 Danish ketch. She nearly sank last October, as seen here in the EADT. Seems she hasn't moved far since then.

Here's a picture of her in happier times, in the Inner Hebrides.

Saw her last Saturday - or rather just her topmasts - very sad to see. The area where she is resting on the bottom against the quay is surronded by a floating boom to prevent any pollution from fuel tanks spreading.

Pretty little ship. I's think the designer and builders would applaut the epoxying if it gave the boat an extra 20 or 30 years of service. It mostly depends on what state she was in before. My Dad was over-the-moon to see one of his designs ... a YWDB in Crosshaven 10 years ago. Someone had found it as an almost writeoffI and lovingly restored it to seaworthy condition.
I wish could get somewhere on 10 gallons too !. I'd only be getting my engines warm on that !.
