I have just read the account in Yachting Monthly and am still in a state of shock. I hadn't heard anything about this at all and assumed that everybody was home safe and well. My sympathy goes to Nick on the loss of a lovely vessel and I am sure that the 'Jester Family' would like to offer many congratulations on his successful rescue and of course many thanks to his saviours. After all it could have been any one of us.

My partner Yvette and I met Nick in Ponta Delgada.

I found him very friendly and knowledgeable. I was moaning about my leaking windows and he dispensed the following wisdom to me:

"You can't expect to cross an ocean in a small boat and not get wet!"

Wise words indeed - put my moaning into context.

Really glad you made it Nick!

Paul
PS: I believe you still have a can opener of mine. I trust you rescued it!

Do we know if Tahiti Belle was then scuttled to remove her as a danger to shipping? I pretty much followed Nick's track back from the Azores myself and did come across quite a bit of flotsam including a 20 L half full water container that I recovered. But of course there is so much flotsam in the Atlantic anyway and the chances of me finding something belonging to Tahiti Belle are very slight.
