This is the current view from 2 of my favourite web cams on the Medway.

This is Gillingham Reach from Medway Cruising beside the Lido.

I can see Concerto in her berth at Chatham Marina from this web cam. Some owners are airing their sails.

The other web cams I like to look at are those in Queenborough, but are currently they are off line.

Do they shoot up from the depths and land in/on the boat?
Probably.
And then they shoot from their depths - all over the boat.
It can make the most appalling mess especially if you return to your mooring on a sunday evening and find your tender in that state...
There's at least one seal in the Orwell with this unpleasant habit.

That dory belongs to a friend with a rather casual approach to boat maintenance - it's been left on the mooring for at least three years and is slowly sinking under the burden of weed and rainwater, making it a regular target for a seal. It comes up with a bit of speed and once it gets half on, it wriggles the rest of the way.

It does make an awful mess.

Ah, the biggest bridge in Hull, as it is known locally. I speak from experience, having pedalled across it every work day for five years, when I worked in the docks and lived amongst the Yellowbellies. The photo emphasises well the extra inch and a half extra distance between the tops of the piers because of the curvature of the earth.

i always joke hull is the arsehole of nowhere its the end of the road so to speak which tbh is a shame because after all the city of culture stuff the marina area is quite lovely now and despite the river being shit brown and busy as hell with commercial traffic it really can be lovely especially at night when all the commercial on both banks is lit up the river is great with added bonus of being really really cheap for moorings :)
