Even in the land of the supersize, small boats and long voyages evidently have an appeal /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
The folks on Sailfar.net are progressing well in organising what they are calling a "Scoot" from Beaufort, NC to the Bahamas (approx 650nm) - also aiming for April 2010.

Sailfar.net / "the Scoot" discussion forum.
Who knows, if the idea catches on "over there" - later years could be a run accross to this side of the world (return leg of the Jester?) /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
BTW the "rules" seem to be a bit more relaxed than the Jester - shorthanded is ok, albeit most seem to be aiming for singlehanded. and apart from that same rules as the Jester. Yer own common sense.
.............and the folks even seem to have a healthy appreciation of Beer /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
