Hi,

Anybody know about a boat called Janchris, a 26 foot open river / harbour launch, carvel planked and round bilged.
Apparently about 60 years old and out of the water the last 20.

I'm looking at her as a possible restoration project.

Any help would be great, thank you.

Jess.

Strange! I thought I knew all the local-ish traditional boats but I certainly don't know this one. I suspect the name isn't the original one because years ago people were far far more innovative than they are today (combining his & her names Yuch!).
Anyways! Any boat is worth doing up if you have the time, patience and ability coupled to obtaining the craft at a bargain basement price.

See my reply on Classic forum.
Beware of getting carried away with a restoration.
Open 26 foot harbour launch value £10 - £15k (unless something v special) if good.
Even if you get it for nothing, £15k doesn't buy you much in restoration terms.
