Singlehanders need to be extra cautious about being personally attached to palegic fish which can be quite powerful and often make a dash for it when they get close to the boat, when there may well be bight or two from a yoyo on the deck. The advice I was given was to use decent sized reels mounted either directly onto the rail or a well secured rod with properly adjusted drag.
