Henley 2021 Cancelled

Whilst I am not overly bothered about Henley I am hoping this is not the start of a whole slew of boating events cancelling for yet another year.

A west coast of Scotland cruise is looking ever more likely ...... assuming crazy Nicola will let us in!

What income is that? HRR has become a glamour show for the EA staff who attend, bigger tents, proper heads, catering. Still, it gives the directors & senior managers a cheap day out.

The contract to construct the course must be quite an expensive one. Cook piling does it these days.

It starts quite early on so it will be interesting to see if and when they start doing it.

Sadly as we approach the anniversary we are seeing events cancelled once more.

in my industry Miami Yacht Show (a year ago now) was the last show I attended.

There have been smaller industry events but we are seeing cancellations-or ‘postponements’ as they call them once more.

Palm Beach IS due to go ahead in the same way Fort Lauderdale did albeit with smaller numbers and exhibitors.

However, European shows are now staring to fall once more. Palma shifted to June but I can’t see it.

Antigua Sailing week (April) cancelled for second year in row.

Cannes is next in diary for Sept followed by Monaco but I would be amazed if either of these take place. If they do they will be very different.

Sales however show no sign of slowing (in record numbers for some) despite vastly reduced ad spend by all and no shows ....

Personally I am about to refit my small centre con run about as it’s about the only thing I will be stepping aboard this year!
