I want to scarph in some in way of broken ribs in an Uffa Fox built International 14. The ribs are 3/32” x 1/4”. I’d need a bit about a foot long, minimum.

I thought I recalled you having an older International 14 a few days back when I stumbled upon a pre-war one.
Which one did you stumble upon? I have a copy of the 14 book if it helps.
Couldn't you just slap on a bit of Plastic Padding?
Oops, I hadn't realised I'd strayed into the 'Impractical Boat Owners' forum!
I'll get my coat . . .
(well multiple coats, actually, each flatted down . . )
15 coats,I know someone who put 23 coats on a chart table...........was still rubbin. You are looking at 15 coats. Each flatted down. These boats probably represent the zenith of traditional boat building.
