Just filled up in Saint Jean De Losne for 1.24 euros a litre for diesel.

Wow. Seems cheap compared to the VAT Paid and Duty Paid prices below... I follow this....

http://www.bunkerindex.com/prices/neurope.php

That site is by the tonne... (USD/Tonne = USD per 1130l. I.e. today's duty free and VAT free price is 38.57 EUR cents per litre....!

And below.... these guys do it at a per litre basis (with a 50% markup to bring it down to your boat by truck):

what does one need to do to aim for the Duty Free and VAT exclusive deals where possible...?

That would be Helpful.

A very simple way to cut your fuel costs in half, is spend twice as long in each port, or by more, spend 2 or 3 times as long in each port. Or you could just find a good one and just hang out.

I think the reality is for a private boat, not a charter one, is that you do end up spending time in Port. I'd be surprised if we motored two days a week really, unless we had friends aboard who had limited time...!

I'm out in Thailand at the moment, and have decided that the best thing in the world would be to have the boat anchored off - spend weekends ashore, then a week in location.... :) Anyway, we'll see. IMG_20171007_182425.jpgIMG_20171007_182154.jpg
