I’m optimistically planning for resumption of normal activities at some point in the future and looking for recommendations for an engineer in the Lowestoft area to come to my boat and vacuum out and re-gas my Frigoboat fridge..........any suggestions appreciated

Will Hayward is very much into boats and Saxmundham based.
He can easily be googled , although Gas is what he promotes.

There are of course several fridge engineers in the immediate area who will inevitably be less costly than importing one from Ipswich.
Fridge Repairs Lowestoft | www.fridgemenders.co.uk is one.

That isn't a particular tradesman, it's just a generic advertising site. Besides, not everyone can do marine refrigeration. The two previous suggestions are both highly regarded tradesmen, who both work in the marine industry.

Why do you need a specialist in marine refridgeration to regas a fridge, just because it is in a boat?
Any half-decent fridge engineer can do that, it's as routine a job as a mechanic pumping up a tyre if he has portable regassing kit.

You may like to notice I made no mention of the level of regard of these two doubtless paragons of their calling so why bring that up? Is it relevant?

I merely obseved that taking coals to Newcastle is likely to be an expensive and unnecessary option - it'll probably double or treble the cost - for what reason? It'll turn a one hour job into half a day.

I'd have thought that a general advertising website would be a good place to start looking. Silly me!

If he has portable equipment that can be taken onboard a boat. Not all do.
