Hi

I'm about to buy a Nordic Folkboat from Sweden (trying to dissuade me from doing so is for another thread, but I'm definitely getting one!). I have narrowed it down to about two or three currently on the market and will shortly be visiting them. They're all in middling to good nick (well, according to the owners desperate to sell!), rather than projects.

Does anyone know of any Folkboat specialists, preferably in the Stockholm area and its environs, who could hold my hand and advise me/undertake any subsequent work I may have done on the boat. I'm looking to restore a boat to make her look as immaculate as I can in a rustic Folkboat way! I'll make some alterations for cruising (eg. layout down below, electronics etc). For various reasons, I'm getting the work done out there, rather than in the UK, where I'm from.

I've been in touch with some general boatyards, but it would be nice to use someone who specifically knows about Folkboats and their various quirks and perhaps advise me on my purchase. I've only owned a "modern classic", not a leaky classic, hence my need for help.

Any help appreciated.

Many thanks.

Just giving this a little bump. GurkanGuvan, are you in Sweden or elsewhere and just looking to buy one of the World's greatest yachts?
