Arrival procedures

There is an 80-metre long waiting pontoon to starboard of the marina entrance, just before the metal lifting bridge, where boats must stop to check-in at the Reception Office.

Upon arrival, skippers must provide boat registration, insurance and crew documents, with boats moored at the waiting pontoon. The receptionists will carry out the check-in and will help with official formalities, if required.

Yes, up to 3 out but rarely, if ever, becomes necessary. If it gets really busy they clear boats on to the hammer heads beyond the bridge, which offer even more options.
If you go into the marina and Lagos goes backwards with covid numbers and goes back into lockdown, will they lift the bridge to let you out or are you stuck in there until Lagos opens up again?

Following a request for clarification, the marina confirmed that it has no authority to stop your departure but you may not be allowed to return to the marina so yes, on request, they will open and allow you to depart.

AS Lagos is a port of refuge, outside the bridge, boats are coming and going from the waiting pontoon.

Possibly, it should be added that in keeping with the Algarve's low incidence of Covid there are only 11 active cases in the county, against Portimao's 189 cases. Understand that Portimao is in full lock down and travel out from that county is not permitted.

Yes Portimao is back under a closure order from today, (except for hairdressers it seems :) ).
Difficult to work out exactly how this is going to work with Lagoa next door. People I speak with all think that travel between Portimao and Lagoa is permitted during the week but there is likely to be a continuation of the weekend "no cross the municipal boundary" for future weekends to restrict the mixing socially.
Very unclear at the moment and it doesn't seem to be spelled out on the government web pages. It seems to have been left to the local municipailities to manage it. Traffic is flowing freely over the town bridge at the moment and no sign of any checks or roadblocks.

I suspect there is a Spanish slant to this story as it is different from what Portuguese news says.

First to agree though its not clear but that might be due to politicians retaining flexibility to adjust measures to quickly respond to case rate changes.

Cannot believe the Euro Cup Final was moved without an agreement for all necessary officials and fans to be able to attend.

Mind you English football is so popular in Portugal that stadium could probable be easily filled with Portuguese fans alone!

BBC News website has a comprehensive report reflecting the uncertainty and suggesting the POSSIBILITY football fans will need to be allocated tickets by name and fly on special charter flights. My understanding is that Portuguese football fans are still not able to attend domestic matches.

State of Calamity (one level down from state of Emergency) has been extended until 30th May but it also suggests travel will be allowed after 17th May.

We have visitors scheduled to arrive from June onwards - we will see!
