ENO Oven Glass Replacement

Well, sitting here on a wet west coast day, I was really looking forward to my baked potato when, SMASH, the inner oven door decided to shatter. After clearing up all the glass, a cold Cornish pastie was lunch.

As far as I knew, Socal were the main ENO people but they were not very helpful so subsequently found out that Penguin Engineering are the main guys for ENO. Phoned, emailed pics, quick return call from Graham there and replacement glass and washers will be delivered tomorrow by courier, £33 all in!

I’m told that oven door glass can shatter due to rust forming, usually in the door frame around the lower glass edge.
The expansion of the rust compresses the glass...

When my glass oven door smashed I replaced it with a sheet of brushed stainless steel, cheaper than the glass and guaranteed not to smash in future.

Mine has gone twice, once with the previous owner and once all over the lunchtime sausages with me. If it goes again the stainless sheet is my next replacement.
