While idling away in lock down I came across one of these in a magazine, sold to help your arthritic pooch alight from the back of your Chelsea Tractor.
Happy Ride™ Compact Telescoping Dog Ramp
71-178 cm long x 41 cm wide and will take a 300lb pooch. (136Kg)
It collapses down for storage only weighs 6Kg
No connection and otheres are available from different suppliers. There may be a saving as the doggie market is much bigger that the marine one. That is if they are suitable.

Title corrected, thank you Sybarite, don't know how I did that.

And the scaffold plank would at least float if dropped...
You could also use a plank as a fender board, thus meeting the requirement that everything you carry has at least two uses, but the plank might no quite make it for the more discerning yachtsman, where shiny toys are required to keep up the image.

The folding passerelle is really designed at least for American market to wheel or ride up your motorbike into back of flat back truck hence is somewhat wider than you average scaffolding plank plus as it folds fits in the back . Might not be the same guard wires on a Chelsea tractor of course to hang the plank on .

Years ago, on charter we had a problem with the tender's outboard. The plank proved jolly useful to clamp the outboard to in the cockpit while we ran it with the prop in a bucket of water. More convenient, believe it or not, than actually on the tender for test purposes!
