If you don't have a folding or feathering prop, consider one of those instead for the extra speed it will give you all the time not just downwind.

(apologies if this was a bit of a big assumption :) )

(My boat is also 29' and the prop gains me 0.7 knot consistently.)

That is so on my list but I can’t always take my boat out of the water each year to service so it seems a no go unless there is such a thing as a service free folding/feathering.

Normally I get a diver to scrub the hull and put anodes on but this year even that wasn’t an option so I had to take the very second rate solution of earthing a wire and hanging an anode on it over the stern.
When you are here in Mogan, and if I am here, I can dive on the hull and do the anodes for you.
