are there many boats planning to arrive in Cherbourg Friday night ?..........looking at the postings there is at least one that seems to be working around this schedule.
hmm - we should be on a converging course then! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I'm sure you'll be windward boat ... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
We plan to get out from Christchurch just before the second HW at 1850 BST. That's, according to the local tables, shewn as the higher tide..
Belfield, Gawd bless 'im, gives the first at 1651 as the Hw.
So if the pressures low and the weathers not tooooo bloody we might just start a wee bitty earlier..
You "neap tide" sailors sure make it difficult for us "mud skippers"!
Belfield gives a depth of 1.4 m and we draw 1.07 plus weight of whisky, gin, rum, brandy and BEER!!
So, God willing, we'll see you on Friday am. at some time ..
Please direct us to a suitable berth and CATCH US !!
If we cannot get out tomorrow night we'll set off at the next Hw Friday am. (only 1.33m!)
BTW just fitted an uptodated VHF so our
MMSI is 235058523 and call sign changed to "2 ACB 5"
So give us a yell and we'll try to work out how to answer!!!
Looking forward to it as ever...
Cheers Bob E 'n Andy (hopefully in "Allegretto")
As I have many relatively inexperienced crew and some virgins!! I am putting it to the vote whether to skip St Vaast and head straight for Cherbourg. We would then have Saturday as a day to concentrate on Food & Drink!!
