Apart from being a pain to change, my cav filter is in a lousy place. I have bought a Chinese copy 500 unit and it is much bigger. The existing filter is sited at the same level as the inlet pipe and pump. Is there a problem in siting the new filter higher? I do plan to fit a squeeze bulb to help bleed. Thanks

No problem, especially with the primer bulb.
