Beta Marne adaptor plate

Has anyone experience on the reliability of the Beta Marine 30hp engine housing adaptor plate allowing it to be mounted directly to an existing Volvo 120S sail drive ?
I plan to replace my aging, and very smoky (also spitting out small amounts of oil in the exhaust) Volvo 2003 of 1986 vintage with a Beta 30 power unit.
One local marine diesel engineering company owner tells me that his engineers are not happy with the design of this adaptor plate.
Now I'm curious !!!

I have it on a Beta 28 onto 110 sail drive. Not caused me any issues in the last 15 ish years
