Autohelm 6000 course computer replacement to? Type 100/300?

Hello sailors..

I'm looking to jump-start my old system to be underway San Francisco to San Diego solo.. and the indicator display as well as the 6000 computer are trashed, so I'm looking to keep within budget and replace the course computer to make if ST, and be able to buy a used ST7000 or ST8002 unit, and use the system i have in place, any recommendation as far as 100 or 300 types? I'm not sure if my 6000 is type 1, 2, or 3 nor if I will be able to utilize a T8002.. any ideas? thxs!

I fitted the new evocomputer to my old 6000st, its brillianta good upgrade, a shame some of the link to nmea are so expensive, aka a rip off
