Only 34' LWL though.
That was the beauty of these designs, both to the eye and for performance. In light winds less wetted area, but as the wind and speed increased so did the waterline length.
I sailed a McGruer designed 8 metre C/R for 9 years. 42ft on deck, but being overweight due to heavy engine aft 30 ft waterline - should have been 26ft. At speed, both on and off the wind the overhangs were supported by the boat's displacement wave form, so that the stern wave was level with the top of the counter.

Bit longer LOA than me but shorter LWL. Internally pretty similar.
Both drop-dead gorgeous. Marihøna is 30'6" LWL and 34' on deck, I casually plan for 6, and on a promising day, 7 knots.
I'm out on Moosk (old gaff yawl) in a few days, and she is only 30'7". LWL. Does an inch make much difference? Bring it on ;)
