• REMINDER - COVID-19

Any content, information, or advice found on social media platforms and the wider Internet, including forums such as YBW, should NOT be acted upon unless checked against a reliable, authoritative source, and re-checked, particularly where personal health and liberty is at stake. Seek professional advice/confirmation before acting on such at all times.

Users who are found to promulgate FAKE NEWS on the forum in regard to this issue, intentional or otherwise, may find their access terminated. It is your responsibility to provide references to bona fide sources.

FAKE NEWS, in this regard, is that which is posited by organisations, media, etc., that is repeated on the forum, or used to support personal opinion/hypothesis posted by users - FAKE NEWS is not necessarily the personal opinion/hypothesis being posted in itself, any issues with such should be challenged respectfully.

IN ADDITION it seems that conspiracy theories are finding their way onto the forum. This is not the place for such content. Users who post it may find their access limited or permanently suspended. Please leave it where you find it.

Any guesses when UK Marinas will be welcoming Visitors.

I was being even more hopeful:
From 8 March, the Stay at Home restriction will continue but it will be amended so that people can leave home for recreation as well as exercise outdoors - with their own household, support or childcare bubble, or with one person from another household. Social distancing and other safe behaviours should be followed.

and 12th April at the earliest before we can stay onboard overnight. Maybe.

But will the 8th March still enforce staying local even though allowed out for recreation.

Perhaps too soon to know. May depend on the difference between guidance, the law, and what you deem morally right.
Certainly for exercise there is no legal restriction on remaining local. The guidance etc. may suggest otherwise.
May have to wait to see how the marinas / RYA interpret it.

In the interest of solidarity maybe UK boaters should desist using their boats until us poor med boaters have access. :)(y)
No rude reply's please. (some chance)
To express some empathy perhaps us UK boaters could try to emulate the journey MED boaters all undertake.
Will require paying to travel 6 months before you go , forget all that cheap ticket myth as well.
£50.00 Outbound :)
£285 to get back on the day you want and that departs at 01:30 hours. :(
Eazyjet webtraffic up 600 %.
Book the airport carpark and pay in advance
Up at the crack of of dawn, two hours to airport and two more hours hanging around in the airport.
3 hours in tube full of people desperately suppressing that telltale cough or sneeze.
An hour finding your luggage and then joining the que at car hire.

Sneaking past the capitainerie to avoid being handed the gardiennage invoice before getting amuch needed beer on the boat.

The weather probably will be better in the south of England (not Wales) anyway. :)
