After quite a while searching and asking for informaton I have all but given up trying to get info on my 50's or 60's Marina Continental built by Hemming and Morris, Birmingham and will have to follow my nose in an attempt to restore it to factory condition
4 questions: 1. having removed totally rotten transom, how do I build new
one. As far as I can tell full beam cross piece is 6 inches deep with one
horizontal brace full width, centre board is 18 inches deep in centre and
joined to crossbeam by 3 vertical braces, there was some residue of ply in
amongst the wreckage so not sure what elements were hardwood and which ply!
2. having built it how do I prepare it for laminating to hull?
3. what is best glue to use for jointing deck support frames - I intend
using Idigboo timber
4. have not yet source timber for deck planking, intend to use mahogany
(recycled from furniture perhaps) how is this jointed/sealed.
Lots of questions demanding some good answers, or perhaps links to good information
thanx all
Dave
